Ow.

7 Small Shawls: T - 178 days and counting down.

I have a knitting injury to report.
Ouch. It is work related. But I don't suppose worker's comp would cover it, do you? "Cause of accident: pointy knitting needles." Hee.

So, yesterday's blog post referenced two 70s songs. Most of you knew the first one. But did any of you catch the second? It was a little oblique, but would be obvious for those of you, like me, who had a mad crush on were fans of a particular singer. Those of you who leave a comment by Monday July 14 midnight PST with the correct song/singer will be entered for a little prize: a copy of Fiori di Sole, due to be released to the public on August 1st.

Neosporin and a Band-Aid on my wound are doing a fine job at the moment, and it's back to work for me!

Ouch - knitting injuries (or any cut) on the fingertips are just OUCH! Hope it heals quickly. And, FYI, you're not the only one who had a crush on/were fans of Mr. Billy Joel (song = Movin' Out). I think I wore out my tape of An Innocent Man playing it so much!

Movin' Out by Billy joel...saw him in concert later in life when he needed a back up singer to sing the high notes but he was still great. Enjoying the 7 shawls patterns...

I understand your pain. Have exactly the same injury on my finger. LOL. Got it using too sharp metal needles. Swapped to my KnitPro/Knitpicks wood needles now. A little bit more gentle on my fingers.

Definitely Billy Joel, Movin' Out! I sang it in my head as I read your post. Glad to hear the Fiori pattern will be available soon - I love the way it plays with scale.

Well, my ADD brain practically lives with 70's music playing softly in the background of my mind.

Your very point on reference was Billy Joel's song.

But your second reference, though very subtle was, "Killing me Softly" by Roberta Flack. At least that is what popped into my brain when I read your post.

I'll join the crowd saying the song reference was to "Movin Out" by Billy Joel.

That looks like a very irritating injury, even with Neosporin and a bandaid. My knitting injury story involves a puncture wound from a double pointed needle (I think it was a #2) when I sat on my knitting in a car.

"Moving Out (Anthony's Song)" by Billy Joel - after reading your post I sang the whole thing in my head :) Funny how a little bit of lyrics can trigger your memory, even if you haven't heard the song in a while...

Billy Joel- Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)

By the way, my favorite type of bandaid is the liquid bandaid. It works like a charm on fingertips.

Of course, it was "Movin' Out" by Billy Joel. I just got caught on the Le Chic reference. ;-)

Have you ever tried any of that liquid skin stuff? Smells awful, but it works for splits like that. Hope you're back in action soon!

That would be Billy Joel - so very cool in the 70's! (I immediately heard him singing it [Moving Out}) when I read your reference. :)

I'm way behind on my Romi reading due to being out of town, so I'm gonna comment here rather than on the actual pertinent blog post. Is your Ohaus balance a CL series? Can you give me the specs? Is it the 200gm/.01 gm model? I guess I have the sickness too--but actually want to use it to weigh ounces of alpaca fleece accurately at a fleece show!

Well... I think we've hit it on the spot with Billy Joel's "Movin Out."

I may be WAY off base but I see The second song as a HINT of is "Killing me Softly"....(Aretha Franklin) - could that mean you want us to "Kill" or Block our lace "softly?" Ha ha ha....

No matter - I sur hope your finger injury is on the mend!!!!

3:32 AM
Blogger blythe11111 said...

For the oblique reference, I can only come up with Killing me Softly sung by Roberta Flack. I already submitted the obvious one of Billy Joel and Movin Out.

I hope your poor finger heals soon.
