Please help me choose!
Some of you may remember that I convinced the wonderful (well, she didn't need much convincing because she is so wonderful!) Dee from Saffron Dyeworks to create a new color of her Enya Sock for a little fundraising shawl pattern for my sons' swim team, the Neptunes. The Neptunes, like so many other swim teams, have been having a very difficult time of it because of the shaky economy in my county. Though this isn't a nation- or world-wide cause, the team is very close to our hearts in this family - swimming is a terrific sport - and I am hoping to help out as much as possible. There are quite a few kids whose parents are unable to pay the dues, and added scholarships (swimmerships?) have been helping to drain the team's coffers.
For the pattern, $5 of each purchase will go to the Neptunes team. And the afore-mentioned wonderful Dee has pledged $5 from each skein of 50 that she will make available for pre-order, as well as $5 per skein ordered within a three month period (she will set the dates on that one). We are all so excited and thankful here that I can hardly tell you!
Well...Dee just sent me three gorgeous watery colors, and I can't decide which to choose! So I showed them to the boys (my two younger ones and the older one) and they each chose a different one! Will you help me please? I took a picture of them, but the colors are so vibrant that the picture doesn't really do them justice.
#1 is probably most like clear blue pool water, with a little grey thrown in; #2 is the stunning green of the San Francisco Bay right near Angel Island, and #3 is the brilliant turquoise of the South Pacific near a white sandy beach. Which can you absolutely not resist?
Please leave me a comment and let me know which one you love best!

They're all stunning but I'd go for number 3.
My vote is for #3!
Definitely #3. And I was a competative swimmer as a kid, then lifeguard and swimming instructor. So I get the "swim team" stuff!
Good luck.
Rosemarie
They are all fabulous but #2 makes me think of my most favorite beach water.
#3, for sure.
I was a competative swimmer as a kid and through my teens, then lifeguard and swimming instructor, and spent a summer coaching a seasonal swim club. I get the swim team thing!
Good luck!!
Love 'em all, but #3 gets my choice. My thinking is that I would most often be wearing jeans in the stands, and that color would work best with most of my denim!
I totally vote for #3...I'm first, so that carries more weight right? :-)
I love number 3..They are all beautiful and Dee is such a wonder with colors..But if I had to choose..number 3 really talks to me!! Ruth G.
I thought your question was going to be, "Which one fits the Neptune swim team best?" to which I would reply, 1.
But the one I can't resist is definitely 3.
Lovely and generous! Numbers two and three are most beautiful to me personally, with the edge going to number three. It's just so rich and deep!
Those are some seriously beautiful colors, and this is a brutal question, but I think I'd have to go with #3.
I can't wait to see what you make!
I'd go with #1. That definitely says water to me.
I love number three.
Number 3!
You can't go wrong with any of the three, but I would choose #3. South Pacific Turquoise and white sand beaches sounds heavenly.
Number 2, but then again, I get all squishy inside when I see green. But I love it, seriously beautiful!
3!!!!! I love that deep blue. And having been to tropical waters, it calls to me.
I can't pick. Seriously. They're all beautiful, but together they're AMAZING. So I'm going to cheat and ask you to design something using 2 *and* 3.
In that photo, my eye went first to number 3. Gorgeous.
#1, it is the closest to the color of pool water and swim teams normally swim in pools.
Green is my favorite color so I choose #2. My next choice would be #3 but all are lovely. Can't wait to see the project!
I like #3 - reminds me of the colors of the sea!
For me it is # 3
Images of South Pacific waters and warm sandy beaches may have influenced my decision :)
the weather in the Puget Sound area
has been very cool and dreary.
Go team,
Ingrid
Though they're all beautiful,I'd have to go with #2. It really makes me think of moving water, I love all the different shades in there!
#3 for sure!
Love #2- it reminds me of Maui's water. And it's cheery.
Gorgeous. It's #1 for me!
Number 3 is my vote
I'm going with #3!
3
two three....its' a toss up. But I'll vote for 3. gorgeous
I think #2 looks most like pool water, but #1 is the one that I love the most. It has a beautiful complexity that draws me in!
Number 3 is my pick, then 2.
They are really beautiful but number 3 would be the one going home with me if I saw them.
I vote for number 2!
I've looked at the picture a few times today & everytime I'm drawn to #1.
It's all about number one for me... Love the colourways!
#3 Absolutely!
Can I say all of them? It would be fantastic to have that option - they would all follow me home!
Number 2 has my vote. I love that green!
#3. They are all gorgeous!!
Oh, 2, of course. 2!
I love them all but I would chose #3
I vote for #3
Having just returned from the Jumento Cays in the Bahamas, while cruising on our boat, I would choose #3 - it is just like the beautiful clear blue of the water there. We could see 25 feet to the bottom. Just beautiful.
My choice in order are #3, #1 then #2. All are lovely!
#3. Love them all!
I vote for #2.
#3. If that's not a "go", then #1. They are all beautiful.
#3.
number 3 for me!
Number one!!!!! subtle but distinct
color variations. Some of the best years of my son's growing up was spent on the swim team up here in Arcata. The co-ed nature of the team was such a good environment for a developing boy.
I have to go with number one, absolutely!
Good luck picking!
2 is beautiful!
3 is my favorite!
#3 is stunning, but very Caribbean. For a local swim team, I'd pick #1.
#2 does look like pool water, but #3 just draws me in....beautiful! Best wishes!
Ooops! I meant to say that #1 looks most like the pool, but #3 is irresistible. #2 is lovely, tho!
I love them all but 3 is my favourite!
3. That's the one I zeroed in on before ever reading the post, so that's the one it's going to be.
#3 no question.
I think you may have underestimated if you plan to sell only 50
I love them all, but #3 gets my vote if I need to choose. Go Neptunes!
Fabulous colors. If I had to pick, i'd pick #3
I'm torn between #1 and #3. #1 is perfectly pool water and I'm drawn to it, but I love love love #3 and would be compelled to buy it. I could talk myself out of #1.
Oh, wait. Make it #1. I don't need more yarn.
I can't resist #3. That is the water in which I want to swim!!
I vote #1.
My personal taste leads me to number 3. Love it!
I vote for number 3 for the brilliant colors of the sea. I love #2, but #3 says brilliant seas to me.

I like #1 the best.
From one Swim Mom to another they are all gorgeous but I especially like #1.
Tradução do português para inglês
I love the three colors equally.
but if you have to choose one ...
I think it would be in the 3
a good Sunday
I think #1 is the prettiest.
I like three, San Francisco Bay.... nostalgia.
