Poof

I had a great post all finished, with a book review even. And then? Poof! And I can't even get back on the site on my Mac where all my pics are, so here I am on the laptop and I'm composing an image-free post because I don't feel like dealing with it right now after spending multiple hours this evening putting together the new school computer. I think that last sentence is a record-breaking length for me. :)

So on to new things. The other post will have to wait until tomorrow.

I think it's time for a change. In two phases. First up: the name of my blog. Here are the options I've been considering, although I'm open to possibilities.

- @ Romi's Studio (like my group on Ravelry - what do you think?)
- Romi's Studio
- Romi Designs

Any thoughts? When I started blogging, I didn't really think about confusing the issue by using my formal name (Rosemary) along with my nickname (Romi), but! I think I did confuse everything judging from some comments I've gotten.

And at some point, I want to switch over to Word Press (in my spare time - haha). Because really? I hate the new blogger interface with the fiery intensity of a thousand suns. It won't stay hacked and I can't keep the pictures where I want them.

Obviously I need to hit bed and get some sleep for my crankiness. :) Let me know what you think about a new name for my blog, please!

Hmmm, tricky..., I'll say Romi's Studio. It looks similar enough to your Ravelry group to be automatically related.

My first reaction to your tweet was, "But I've been reading that blog since before I got on Ravelry" (which wasn't too long after you could start asking for invites).

But I do like he idea of @ Romi's Studio. It sort of encompasses what your blog is like (a day in the life of the knitter and jewelry designer extraordinaire), connects back to your work and the Ravelry community, and doesn't confuse blog and shop.

Much love! Also, sorry your computer wouldn't post the pretties.

Well personally I'd vote to keep the current name as I love it just as it is. It's a little quirky. But, as you want to change and perceive a need for it, I'd go for the simplicity of Romi's Studio ... or why not just simply "Romi"

I have always loathed Blogger with a vengeance and have found it very difficult to use, despite being a computer user since the early eighties, and an IT professional for many years. Beats me how it ever rose to prominence. I am however, a very happy Wordpress user of many years standing (it's my Control Freak tendency that is most satisfied) and I promise you that you will never regret making the switch ;-) Good luck with it -- thankfully the import blog feature is really simple and straightforward, so nothing will be lost

hmmmmmmm, that's a tough choice. I think either one would be good. I do like the name of your blog now, though....and blogger does, well, make you mad. The switch to wordpress is supposed to be easier now - I think it migrates your older posts for you - when I switched I had to do that little time consuming thing by copy/paste. Good luck!

I like Romi Designs, but do understand the clarity of continuity with @ Romi's Studio.

Not much help am I? Actually just as long as I can find your blog I will be thrilled.

Funny thing is, despite reading your blog all the time, I didn't really notice it was called rosemary-go-round. I always called it romi-go-round in my head! ;)

I like @Romi's Studio.

I ditched blogger a number of years ago and moved to Typepad. No problems at all.

I really love them both, but for some reason I like the ring of "Romi Designs." I think it describes the story you will tell in your blog and describes the "elegant you."

I know what you mean about Blogger--it has worked my last nerve several times. I'm thinking of cutting them loose too but haven't decided what to do instead. Sorry you are having issues with them too.

I haven't had any confusion with your dual names but I can understand why you would want to bring everything under one umbrella. Since Ravelry has become such a huge presence in the knitting/crochet world, I lean toward @ Romi's Studio or just Romi's Studio. I'm wondering if the @ would cause any issues, although I don't know what they would be.

Personally, I think the @ is a bit cliche'. I've seen a lot of blogs lately called that....

I like Romi Designs and Romi Studio - probably the former most....

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Wordpress! I have had issues with getting the style the way I'd like it (anyone have any spare time?), but I love everything else. The photos look fabulous (I'm a photographer) and pulling your old blog in is a snap. To start, I just started using it and then pulling the posts over later. It was really a minor thing. :)

Good luck with it all!

I, too, like the current name, but also really like "Romi-go-round" as a compromise. Blogger and I have always gotten along really well (I'm on a Mac, too), and am aggravated by the extra step Wordpress requires commentors to got through to follow comments on a post. But different strokes for different folks....

I think Designs by Romi would be good since it's the name of your business, but having said that - I like the others too.

My choice is "Romi's Studio" with or without the "@".

I'd suggest keeping the Go Round and changing it to Romi-Go-Round. Keeps your branding consistant and has more personality then Designs or Studio (imho). :)

I like @ Romi's Studio. It seems that it just fits better than the other two, since we're kind of peeking into your studio as you blog, right?

Wordpress or Blogger, it doesn't matter to me. =]

Romi's House of Love?

Ok, kidding. Romi's Studio is good, all encompassing. Though I must say I've never been confused by your blog and your creations.
