First things first
7 Small Shawls: T - 153 days and counting down.
RIght? :) Thank you all for your great comments! The winner of my little give away is...Jane - comment #27! (chosen randomly at random.org) Jane, please email me at romi (at) designsbyromi (dot) com with your address and I'll send off your pin!
And shawl #3's name? Celaeno!!!
While we were all thinking of Celaeno, I was also working away on my Maia fingerless mitts. I love how the knitted fabric stands up before it's blocked!
The Maia mitts are patterned down the back of the hand,
and around the base.
I love the yarn, but I'm also going to knit them in a solid green. Because, well...I love green with a passion, and because I want to see the pattern pop more. Shall I bead the second version? And would you all like a hat to go with them? Let me know!

The mitts look great! Definitely bead the second ones. I'm planning to knit some in the yarn left over from knitting Maia. Matchy matchy. :D
Can't wait to see the mitts better in the green yarn. Looking forward to test knitting them.
Beaded mitts would hold little additional attraction for me... but how I would LOVE a Maia hat!
As the Maia shawl is beaded I think the matching mittens should have beads too. And a matching hat would be great! I am sorely lacking in the Cute Hat department, I have mostly functional ones.
I finished knitting my Maia yesterday, I may have to make another one *with* matching mittens (and hat?)
Yes to the beads! As I was looking at the photos, I wondered to myself if beads could be added in the same spots as on the shawl. Looking forward to these patterns Romi!
Oh, I love the idea of a hat!!!
Hello...
Yes to the hat (especially a beret) and an emphatic yes to the beads...
T
I'd be curious to see the green ones beaded. It just so happens I am a member of the "I Love Green" Club!
Not a fan of beads on gloves, but that's just me.
Hat would be cool.
Would love to see the next mitts beaded. A hat would also be awesome, since I just went to short hair I think I better knit some hats before winter since I don't own any. :-)
Congratulations Jane!
Welcome Celaeno!!!
And Romi, Skylark says yes to a hat :)
I don't wear hats.
Looking forward to see the green version.I'm with plumbum on the beads, and the love for a Maia hat!
Yes, bead! Yes, hat! Yes, yes, yes! (And thanks Romi for such wonderful designs!).
Yes, Yes, Yes to beaded mittens and a hat would be fab, a beret would be nice or something not so close to head for those of us round face people, you are so creative I know what every it will be will be awesome. Rock on!
I so love that yarn, though green would be wonderful, too. Can't wait to see them...and what about matching socks since you're on a roll? ;-)
