Down the way

7 Small Shawls: T - 165 days and counting down.

Just look at what Karen dyed for me!
Believe me, it's even more stunning in real life. The color fairly crackles with life. It reminds me of that old song Harry Belafonte used to sing: Jamaica Farewell. I imagine the water around Jamaica to be this color, but, never having been there, I could certainly be wrong. Isn't it gorgeous?! What do you think the name should be?

Maybe go with the feeling of Harry Belafonte and call it Jamaica Hello, because it does seem to be inviting you to knit it!

I like La Mer. Mostly because I saw the color and started humming "Beyond the Sea" to myself. Gorgeous color though.

I personally like "La Mer". I looked at the picture and found myself humming "Beyond the Sea", the Bobby Darin version. Gorgeous color though. Absolutely love it.

Well I think you've answered your own question Romi. It can be nothing but JAMAICA FAREWELL. Thank you so much for sharing that video! I always loved that song and now I can actually see him sing it!

I've never been to Jamaica, but I have been to the US Virgin Islands and British Virgin Islands, and I think the water is about the same color throughout the Caribbean. At least this picture on my computer looks a little darker than what you'd see there. Maybe the name should be Night Swimming?

I love the color. I'm in agreement with others who've said Jamaica Farewell is a good name.

I like to call any blue that I'd like to float in for hours "Curacao" for the island and the liqueur
