Monday's Musing

In honor of President's Day and of my elder son's hero, George Washington:

"In executing the duties of my present important station, I can promise nothing but purity of intentions, and, in carrying these into effect, fidelity and diligence."
- George Washington

And, from all that we have read about him, I do believe he actually meant what he said. What more could anyone ask? Washington was truly a great man.

Have a wonderful week, everyone!

I agree. Many of the founding fathers have had mud thrown on them in the last several years, but I believe George Washington meant what he said. His actions and sacrifices back up his words.

Are you excited about the current buzzings in politics? I am on the edge of my seat with candidates like McCain, and potential candidates like Obama and Clinton. It is going to be quite a ride to the polls. Just to have my daughters grow up in a time when the candidates for the democrats are who they are is so amazing. I know very little about George Washington but that quote is so important. It seems so often that people in office are beholding to too many people and are unable to maintain the "purity of their intentions"

I think it's important for us to remember that we have had truly good men in office, and I agree with what Sarah said. Such a good buzz this year, and the hope that we can once again have a good feeling about our choices for high office!
