About Me
- Name: Romi
- Location: Beautiful Northern Nevada, United States
I've always loved being crafty, but never imagined I could be lucky enough to do it for a living until I started Designs by Romi in 2005 after getting hooked on lace knitting. Things grew from there, and these days I'm teaching and designing knitwear - especially shawls! - as well. I owe the internet knitting community a debt of gratitude for making it possible for me to fondle yarn, fiber and beads incessantly, and not feel guilty about it!

Oh oh. Interesting picture.
I'll be rooting for Rosemary in the second half!
H-m-mm, let me guess ... would it be Rowan kid silk haze??? My response was similar, if not unprintable, when I tried to unravel a row to correct a mistake made while knitting lace with the aforementioned yarn. Not a pleasure ... although, the end result was quite fabulous! Persevere .. you'll be glad to did.
Oh boy.... okay, let's regroup. Now, get back on the horse.
Written-outs and charted, both, I promise...
You're not going to let it beat you? Show it who's the Boss!
Oh I just hate when that happens!
Rosemary, I feel your pain :-(
Rosemary, are you going to let some yarn boss you around?
Of course not- take control!
((screams into a pillow))
Yup. Been there. You must be more intrepid than I am, though. I probably wouldn't even try to frog mohair.
Ooooh, I sense your frustration...not good. Did Mr. Destructo get to your project??!!??
Baby mohair...my nemesis. It's tricksy and false. Good luck!
Thank you.
Ah, I know that feeling...
Mohair - naughty.
Romi - nice.
That's a whole lot of k2tog's and yo's to rip back through! Whew!
Oy! OY!!!! But hey: You're the boss here, not that yarn!
Mohair, it definitely has something against me. And yet I'm always drawn to it, like I've forgotten all the bad experiences. I think it's because it's so pretty!
it's green...hmmm... Is that coming to a email account near me sometime soon? You're on my list, lady. That mohair doesn't stand a chance if it's up against you and me. Let me tell you--if a Missouri rainstorm so bad that I can't see doesn't slow me down (much) while driving through St. Louis, a town I've never driven through before, well then, let me tell you, Mohair? It don't stand a chance!
The kids are darling and the parade events were wonderful. Thanks for the photoessay!
I SO feel your pain, I have a similar picture, with Kidsilk Haze. Don't worry, keep truckin' on, just tell yourself this is a dry run to memorize the pattern and then zoom along the second or third time!
I was also going to say, get some Addi Lace needles! If you can't find those, get some Inox circulars, I couldn't have finished my Swallowotail without them!
