No snow here either, and this is the second year in a row. The kids miss the stuff, and I miss the light it brings with it. But I haven't seen anything like that on your street here. Finns are obvioulsy not that desperate, or the desperate ones have travelled to snowier areas.
No wonder the New York Times just featured an article on how manufacturers of sleds are seeing disappointing results in sales... Just blame it on resourceful Californians!

ReplyDeleteWhat do you guys call that? Snowless canoeing? Toboganning?
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny.
LOL! Well, you have to use whatever you have handy. We don't even have mountains here, so no sledding for us at all.
ReplyDeletehehe.
ReplyDeleteThat looks a lot warmer than what hubby wants me to do, which is drive up to join him in the snow at Stonyford for tomorrow.
I'm thinking not. lol
You do what you need to do! We have the most snow at Christmas since 1950 (!). It is quite beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like fun!

That looks like fun. I never even thought of an activity like that.
ReplyDeleteWe have had plenty of rain and snow this year. I always like a good snow better than mush though.
I loved you musing and may have to read that book finally rather than watching the movie. We did watch it again this year it is a perennial favourite.
I wish you and your family a New Year filled with love and cheer.
That's awesome and inventive!
