Wild About Harry

Well, not much happened here this past weekend, because a little package came:

So, of course, my husband and I had to take turns reading to each other (and #1 Son - Dr. Destructo wasn't interested) until we had finished it. We are both huge Harry Potter fans. Now we can go back and digest it more slowly.

No spoilers. All I will say is that it was a very satisfying book. I think it is one of her best.

The rest of my week is wild and crazy. I may not see y'all for a little while!

But to answer Susan's question about why I was getting dyed top for my book when it is about beads....there's felted stuff in there, too! Woo!

  1. Yes, blogland was silent this weekend as folks read about Harry.

    Glad to hear an update.

LOL, I'm doing the same thing, rereading it again so I can savor it this time. I did a super quick first read because I HAD to know. I think it was her best book, though much much darker in tone.

  3. I am such a "doh"! I decided very early on not to read any of the HP books until every single one of them was written, so when I started reading I would not have to wait until the next one came out -- good plan? My timing could have been better. I now have all six previous books to read before I can find out what happens! I am so bummed. I am only 1/3 of the way through the first book! Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrggggghhhh! I won't know the ending until Christmas! :(

  4. Rosemary- I'm more interested in your upcoming book.
I'm probably the only person who has never read a HP, and don't plan on doing so.

Although, the movies were pretty good.

  5. I wish I could borrow it. I cannot get it till the paperback comes out.

Back in town. Happy to be so.

  7. I haven't even gotten my copy yet (not sure why I'm being so patient this time...perhaps because I don't want it to end?)..

I've got mixed feelings about it, but a re-read should help resolve some of them. I really tore through it, despite wanting to savor the experience... ;-)

It has been quiet with everyone reading the new book. I still haven't sat down to read it. Very soon though.

  14. I'm a librarian and cataloged the book a few days before its release. We had to sign all kinds of papers and hide them in a closet. hehe. Unfortunately I'm not a HP fan so the excitement was wasted on me...I didn't even peek inside...

Now that they're all out I may have to go back and read them. I read #1 and enjoyed it but as an English major with too much required reading I didn't have the time to keep going. I'm glad everyone seems so thrilled with the last installment! :)

  15. Glad you enjoyed it. I did, too. I'm sad that they are over, but glad that they are so re-readable!

  16. I have to agree. I think this is the best of the series. Reading it again slower this time. Life pretty much came to a halt from Friday until Tuesday. No email, no blogging, no tv, nothing. I was afraid of spoilers!!!!
