Wherein the Black Beast is Tamed

Look! Tame mohair!

Gratuitous arty shot:

I'm using US size 7 needles so that the Mystery Stole pattern shows through the halo. The beads are also a bit larger than specified: size 6 instead of 8. And they are plummy purple. I love the way they look - like a glinting purple highlight on the black.

I finally started yesterday after a trip to the bead store (which is next door to the yarn store!). :)

I will save the real gloating until I have actually finished the Mystery Stole. No need to anger the Mohair Gods yet while they still have power over me.

That pattern is so gorgeous, and I can't wait till the rest of it starts showing up all over the place. Your yarn and your beads with it are really scrumptious.

  4. So sorry to miss knitting yesterday. Since it was 7/7/07/ I was lucky to have a sleep in and a lazy day at home while Ken had the girls out at Grandpa/ma's. Yeah for me. Sit and knit in my cozy couch.
I am looking forward to seeing the stole revealing it's self. The bead are fantastic.
    See you soon. Kathleen

  9. It looks great. I love the color of the beads. I would much rather knit a shawl on 7's than 3's any day.

  12. Gorgeous! I don't have time to look through all the posts and pics on MS3 so this is the first black one I've looked at I think. Lovely, and I don't think the mohair is an issue at all.
